  Our gymnasium was magically transformed into a North Pole winter wonderland ❄️🤍 for an unforgettable holiday experience! Students explored festive photo stations 📸, gift stations 🎁 for every grade, and enjoyed holiday music 🎶 all around.
  
  From a huge gingerbread house 🏠🍪 to giant balloon sculptures of Santa 🎅, reindeer 🦌, and the Gingerbread Man — the joy was everywhere! The highlight of the day? A special visit and photos with Santa and his elf 🎅🧝‍♂️✨
  
  Thanks to the generosity of our amazing donors, every child received a wonderful holiday gift 💝, making this event truly magical and memorable for our PS 16 community.

  👑✨ What a beautiful Rosca de Reyes celebration at P.S. 16 Queens! Students and their families came together to enjoy a delicious slice of the traditional Three Kings bread, sip on cozy hot cocoa ☕️, make festive crowns 👑, and leave with joyful smiles and special gifts 🎁

  Family Holiday Gathering at P.S. 16 Queens 🎁✨
  Our P.S. 16 Queens family came together for a beautiful Family Holiday Gathering organized by our amazing Parent Coordinator, Ms. Martha Jimenez. Every child received a present and families enjoyed music, dancing, hot food, cake, arts and crafts, and fun photo moments with our special visitors.
  Huge thank you to our generous donors and sponsors: Anthem, Betty’s Catering, NY Housing Queens, and the New York Mets for making this celebration possible. Special shout-out to Mr. Met, Assemblywoman Catalina Cruz, and Santa for bringing extra joy and smiles to our students and families.

  Today, we proudly honor Council Member Francisco Moya of the 21st District as he concludes his distinguished service on the City Council. 🌟
  
  Council Member Moya has gone above and beyond for our community—power washing our school entrance, visiting our Civic Squad for a Q&A on how government works, bringing our students to City Hall for a firsthand look at civic leadership, and helping us secure an upcoming soccer training program ⚽️.
  
  His dedication, kindness, and genuine care for our students have left a lasting impact that will continue to inspire future generations.

• 12-13-25 Holiday Wellness and Fun Fair

  🎄✨ What an incredible day at the P.S.16 Queens Holiday Wellness & Fun Fair! 🎅💚
  
  Our school community came together to celebrate the holidays and the importance of health, wellness, and togetherness — and it was pure joy from start to finish!
  
  🍿 Popcorn, cotton candy, hot cocoa, candy canes, and sweet treats all around!
  🎁 Every student went home with a present and a smile.
  🎨 From face painting, balloons, and snow globes to gingerbread house creations — the creativity was endless!
  📚 Big thanks to our amazing partners: Commonpoint, Queens Library, the Office of Language Access, Queens CDC, and Apicha Health Center for their special appearances and continued support. And we were also visited by our new Council Member Elect @shanelforcouncil 🤍 We are strong together, community first. @commonpointny @ps16qcommonpoint @qplnyc nhsofqueens @apichachc @nycschools @nyc_district24

  This month, Commonpoint Community School P.S. 16 Queens hosted a *Healthy Smiles* event — providing free dental exams, cleanings, and oral hygiene education for every student.

• 11-26-25 Balloons Over P.S.16

  Today our hallways in Corona, Queens transformed into a mini parade route as our P.S. 16 students showed off their incredible “balloon” creations! Led by our Awesome Turkey Ms.O’Sullivan and Principal Rodriguez, our students showed off their balloons of superheroes to animals to wild original designs, every float was powered by student imagination, hard work, and big smiles. Huge thank you to our staff for helping make our Balloons Over P.S. 16 an unforgettable celebration of creativity and community.

  🎃 The 2025 Pumpkin Patch was an incredible success! 🍂 Our students spent the day laughing, exploring, and creating fall memories they’ll cherish for years to come.
