12-08-25 Healthy Smiles Event
This month, Commonpoint Community School P.S. 16 Queens hosted a *Healthy Smiles* event — providing free dental exams, cleanings, and oral hygiene education for every student.
Uploaded Jan 09, 2026 to Commonpoint Afterschool Program
At Commonpoint, we believe that access to healthcare is more than a service — it’s an investment in our children’s confidence, learning, and future. Good oral hygiene helps kids stay healthy, focused, and ready to shine every day in school and beyond.
Seeing our students smile proudly after their checkups reminds us what community is all about — care, connection, and opportunity. Because when we support healthy habits early, we build brighter futures together.

Civics For All Soapbox Speeches 03-14-25
This school year, we launched the Civics for All initiative to enhance opportunities for students to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for active participation in democracy. Our goal is to empower all students to become engaged community members who think critically and contribute meaningfully to shaping the future of our city and country.
Uploaded Jun 17, 2025
As part of Civics Week, we introduced our students to Project Soapbox, a public speaking initiative that challenges young people to voice their perspectives on issues affecting their communities. Through this initiative, students not only identify and discuss pressing concerns but also propose and advocate for solutions to improve their schools, neighborhoods, and the lives of their peers.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the teachers and students whose dedication and enthusiasm made this event a success. Student voices matter, and initiatives like Project Soapbox reinforce the importance of civic engagement, inspiring young people to drive meaningful change in their communities.
